A second Louisiana man is going to prison for taking part in the carjacking and wounding of an undercover Dallas police officer.
19-year-old Xavier Cook has pleaded guilty to an armed robbery charge and was sentenced to 8 years in prison. He is the second person to admit to the carjacking that left the undercover cop with a leg wound.
It happened in August of 2023. The officer was in an unmarked squad car, parked near Bachman Lake. The three bandits blocked him in and then got into a gunfight. The men took the car, but got rid of it minutes later after realizing what they had done.
Cook and two others were arrested in Shreveport. One pleaded guilty last month and was sentenced to 30 years.
The final person is still awaiting trial.
