A call about a suspicious van led police in White Settlement to discover explosives, prompting an investigation into the intentions of the man inside the van.
Early Tuesday morning, the White Settlement Police Department received a call about the van parked in a neighborhood on Jason Lane. Officers discovered a man in the driver's seat with a gun in his lap.
When they talked to him, they realized he was dealing with a mental health issue. Police were able to grab him from the van and he's now at a mental health facility.

Afterward, police saw what looked like possible explosives in the van. Fort Worth's bomb squad came out to check them out and they were improvised explosive devices.
Police also found a rifle and an AR-style pistol. They called in the FBI and ATF to assist with removing the devices, and the van was towed. Authorities are now working to get search warrants as investigators are working to figure out why the man parked the van in that neighborhood and what his intentions were.
