
A Tarrant County jail inmate died Wednesday, days after being transported to a hospital, officials say.
According to the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office, the man was arrested by Grand Prairie police on Jan. 24 on multiple outstanding felony warrants, including one for injury to a child. He was booked into the jail the following day and placed in medical housing.
On Saturday, the inmate was transferred to JPS Hospital for treatment. Authorities have not disclosed the nature of his medical condition or the reason for his hospitalization.
The inmate’s identity has not yet been released. The cause of death remains under investigation.
