A Tarrant County man is going to prison for life for murdering his elderly uncle three years ago.
Last week, Martin Wilson was convicted in the 2019 shooting death of James Wilson, his 74-year-old uncle who was gunned down in his pick-up parked in front of the uncle's east Fort Worth welding shop on East Maddox near Highway 287.
Prosecutors said the younger Wilson was homeless and his uncle had been allowing him to sleep in the shop at night. Relatives said James Wilson was about to evict his nephew which is what led to the shooting. Tuesday, the same jury that convicted Martin Wilson sentenced him to a life term.
