Tarrant County sheriff tests positive for COVID-19

The sheriff of Tarrant County has tested positive for COVID-19.

According to the department, Sheriff Bill Waybourn tested positive Saturday, November 14th. He started showing symptoms the day before, and began to quarantine.

Some members of the TCSO Command Staff are under quarantine as well as a precaution.

The sheriff had been in contact with three other people during the high-risk period, and they have all tested negative.

Sheriff Waybourn has mild symptoms and expects to return work as soon as it is safe to do so.
