One of the final major steps before the 2026 FIFA World Cup kicks off in June of next year is finding out where the 48 teams will call home for the several weeks leading up to and during the matches.
FC Dallas President and CEO Dan Hunt is hopeful that North Texas will host the best of the best in the various base camps.
"I hope we can fill every single one of them with Top 20 teams or Top 30 teams," Hunt said during a Tuesday news conference following the World Cup Draw last week.
There are a number of possibilities across the area from TCU to Toyota Stadium and UNT as well as the Cotton Bowl among others.
Some teams were in North Texas this week to take tours.
They will put in their requests next month. FIFA will make final assignments in March or April.
