Big group walks for good causes are on hold, but one is happening virtually
It's the Anti-defamation league's Walk Against Hate.
You sign up, get sponsored and walk, alone or socially distanced with others.
The first walk last year was successful. It happened on one day. But 2020 has been different and of course, this year's walk is too. The dates for this walk are spread out between October 12th through the 18th.
Kerri Aikin Roseberg with the Texoma regional office of the Anti-defamation league says the goal is to show support for diversity and inclusion. "To say that hate has no place in our community. Everybody will be walking that week across the country, taking photos of themselves and posting them to social media with our hashtag, walk against hate."
You can walk, bike or run.
On Sunday the 18th there will be a livestream celebration with videos and photos of people who have used the hashtag, remarks ADL CEO and National Director Jonathan Greenblatt and more.
Like other walks, people are encouraged to sign up and then get sponsored or support someone else.
