Trevor McEuen, a Texas fugitive wanted for capital murder and aggravated assault, was captured early Monday morning after weeks on the run.
Authorities found McEuen barefoot and covered in mud, ending a statewide manhunt.
McEuen was originally arrested in May 2023 for fatally shooting his neighbor in Forney, Texas, but later cut off his ankle monitor and fled while out on bond.
Law enforcement agencies issued a $30,000 reward for information leading to his capture, tracking sightings across multiple counties.
His arrest comes after intense efforts by the Texas Rangers, U.S. Marshals, and local police, who followed a series of anonymous tips.
Officials say McEuen evaded capture by changing locations frequently and avoiding digital footprints.
McEuen is now in custody at the Kaufman County Jail, facing additional charges related to his escape. Authorities have not released details on how he ended up in the back of a police vehicle, but officials confirm his flight from justice is over.
