Royse City state representative Bryan Slaton has resigned under the cloud of a sex scandal in Austin.

Slaton resigned Monday with the Texas House planning a vote to expel him for allegedly having sex with a 19-year-old capitol intern where he was accused of providing her with so much alcohol that she felt dizzy and had double vision.

Over the weekend, the House General Investigative Committee released a 16-page report on the scandal and recommended his expulsion.

Since three of the five committee members are fellow Republicans, it looked like the handwriting was on the wall. Even with his resignation, House Republican Andrew Murr said Monday he still plans to bring up the expulsion resolution in the House for a vote today.

In one of his final legislative motions, Slaton filed HB 4129 which would ban erotic performances, including drag shows, in the presence of kids.

"The State has a duty to protect kids from being sexually exploited, and HB 4129 is the most comprehensive bill to stop the sexualization of kids by these performances" Slaton wrote on a social media post promoting the bill.

On his twitter bio, Slaton describes himself as a, "Christian Conservative. Proud Texan. Defender of Liberty."
