PGA golfers from around the world started teeing off Thursday morning at the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth. More than 100 golfers are competing.

The competition draws more than 10,000 fans each day, and the tournament runs through Sunday. The Charles Schwab Challenge will shut down some neighborhood streets around the Colonial and lead to higher traffic around the club, Fort Worth Zoo and TCU.

"We're very excited about this week. It's the greatest week at Colonial of the year, and we hope to see you all out there," says the tournament committee's Kasey Pipes. "It's going to be a week you won't forget."

The Colonial has hosted a PGA event every year since 1946.

"Seventy nine years running, the Colonial tournament is the longest location in one place in the history of the PGA, and that happens here in the City of Fort Worth," says Mayor Mattie Parker. "It's an important part of our community, an economic development driver."

Pipes says the Charles Schwab Challenge will be seen in 110 countries around the world, have a $25 million economic impact, $20 million for charity and $7 million in media attention, "making this one of the best advertisements for our great city anywhere."

Tickets are still available for each day. General Admission starts at $50 and range as high as $580. Parking is not included and starts at $25. More information is available at https://www.charlesschwabchallenge.com/.
