AIDA

Aida is an opera set in ancient Egypt, composed by Giuseppe Verdi. It tells the story of a love triangle between the Ethiopian princess Aida, the Egyptian military commander Radamès, and the Pharaoh's daughter Amneris. Amidst political tensions and personal conflicts, Aida and Radamès struggle to navigate their feelings while being torn between loyalty to their countries and their love for each other. This production from the Fort Worth Opera features the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra.

Big Texas Beer Fest

The Big Texas Beer Fest is Dallas’ original beer festival. The 2023 event is the 11th annual. Changing Perspectives Block Party: A Cultural Festival

It’s Dallas Arts Month. And the Changing Perspectives Block Party is a great family-friendly event to get up-close-and-personal with great art. Watch Close-Act Theatre’s Birdmen come to life; they are large dinosaur-like performers that extend 23 feet high and 19 feet long with a wingspan of 13 feet.

Exploring the power of kineticism in art and featuring 80 works drawn from the Museum’s permanent collection, Movement: The Legacy of Kineticism showcases the work of artists from three historical eras that utilize optical effects or mechanical or manipulable parts to engage the viewer physically or perceptually. DSO: Decades: Back to the ’80s

Dallas Arboretum: Dallas Blooms

Dallas Blooms, the Southwest’s annual floral festival featuring the Great Contributors bronze sculpture collection is here. The collection includes new historical figures, including Ruby Bridges, Harriet Tubman, Mother Teresa, Amelia Earhart and Joan of Arc. The spring festival showcases an explosion of color from 100 varieties of spring bulbs, 500,000 spring-blooming blossoms, thousands of azaleas and hundreds of Japanese cherry trees.

Ennis Bluebonnet Trails Festival

Ennis was designated by the 1997 State Legislature as the home of the Official Texas Bluebonnet Trail and was designated the Official Bluebonnet City of Texas. From April 1-30,  Ennis showcases over 40 miles of mapped driving Bluebonnet Trails sponsored by the Ennis Garden Club.

This weekend, the Ennis Bluebonnet Trails Festival features arts & crafts vendors, tasty food and kids activities on the streets of Downtown Ennis. Additionally, visitors can buy tickets for the Wine Wander, where you sip, shop, and take in the festival. The $30 ticket gets you a souvenir wine glass, event bag, map of the downtown festival, and the opportunity to taste some of the finest wines in Texas.

FWBG: ZimSculpt

The Fort Worth Botanic Garden is excited to announce its first-ever Zimbabwean sculpture exhibit, ZimSculpt, which runs April through July 2023 throughout the Garden. ZimSculpt features more than 100 exquisite sculptures by several dozen contemporary Zimbabwean artists. Known as Shona sculpture, these contemporary pieces are carved from various types of serpentine and semi-precious stone, often weighing tons, and can be as large as seven feet tall.

Festival of Joy

Friday on the Green

"I'll Be Your Mirror: Art and the Digital Screen" - Modern Art Museum

The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth presents the landmark I’ll Be Your Mirror: Art and the Digital Screen, a thematic group exhibition that examines the screen’s vast impact on art from 1969 to the present. This exhibition surveys more than sixty works by fifty artists over the past five decades. The artists included examine screen culture through a broad range of media such as paintings, sculpture, video games, digital art, augmented reality, and video.

McKinney Arts in Bloom

Over 125 juried artists plus the Local Artist Village are set up on the tree-lined streets surrounding the McKinney Performing Arts Center in Historic Downtown McKinney. During the event, the streets of downtown come alive with fascinating sights and sounds as fine artists, performance artists, musicians, Texas wineries, and food vendors take part in the three-day celebration. Victory Over Violence Walk/Run

Women’s National Collegiate Gymnastics Championship

The 2023 championship marks the sixth year this event will call Fort Worth home. Over 30,000 spectators are expected to attend the two-day event.

The women’s gymnastics championships consists of eight teams, as well as four all-around
competitors and 16 event specialists who were not members of a qualifying team. The top two
teams from each of the four regionals have advanced to the national championships. In addition,
the top all-around competitor and the top finisher on each event from each regional have also
advanced to the national championships.

Teams competing for the 2023 women’s gymnastics championships are Denver, Florida, LSU, Cal, Kentucky, Oklahoma, UCLA and Utah
