Another round of rain moved across North Texas overnight, dropping additional rain on already-saturated ground. The National Weather Service says DFW Airport received 1.14 inches of rain.

Just before 6 a.m. Wednesday, the Dallas County Sheriff's Office says several cars were involved in a crash on I-345, the elevated highway separating Downtown from Deep Ellum. The wreck ended with a semi-truck crashing through the cement barrier and guard rail, coming to rest dangling over the side of the bridge over Live Oak Street.

The driver was taken to the hospital, and a crane was needed to lower the truck down to the city street below. Debris from the crash also littered the street and sidewalk.

Wednesday morning, the sheriff's office was investigating what led to the crash and how weather might have played a role.

To the northwest in Denton, the fire department says two cyclists were stranded in Greenbelt Park, a 20 mile trail east of the city, about 8:30 Tuesday night.

"High water and darkness are not friendly during a rescue situation," the Denton Fire Department wrote on Facebook.

The department used the "what3words" app to pin down the cyclists' location. The app breaks the world into ten foot squares and uses GPS to assign three words people who are stranded can give first responders to find their location.

The fire department found the two about three hours after they called, and the department reached them with a boat about 12:30 Wednesday morning. No one was hurt.
