Southlake Police say they have arrested a man accused of stealing pool cleaners and found five in the suspect's car.
Wednesday morning an officer pulled a driver over after noticing an expired temporary tag and said the driver was acting super nervous and his hands were shaking.
That's when the officer noticed two "sopping wet Polaris pool pumps" in the back seat.
The suspect, Kemp Clopton, said he picked them up the previous morning to repair them and said he worked for a pool company. He gave the officer several business names, but kept changing his story.
As for why his shirt was dry, but his pants and shoes were wet - Clopton told the officer - he had been hanging out in a wet field. Officers arrested him after discovering he had a warrant out of Arlington.
When officers checked the trunk - they found three additional pumps, as well as pawn shop receipts.
