A judge has finally set a trial date for the former Fort Worth cop charged with the murder of Atatiana Jefferson nearly 2 years ago.
36-year-old Aaron Dean was an officer for the Fort Worth police department when he was assigned to conduct a welfare check at a home where Atatiana Jefferson was babysitting her nephew.
Report say she armed herself with a handgun when she heard a noise outside of her home, and then officer Dean opened fire on her through the home's window. Jefferson was shot and killed.
Dean has been charged with murder in the case.
His trial is set for November 16th. It had been delayed when courts across the state postponed jury trials because of COVID-19.
