A Texas Department of Public Safety trooper is in critical condition after being hit by a car while working a crash on the Dallas North Tollway Monday morning.
The trooper was outside his squad car when he was struck by an oncoming vehicle.
He was taken to Plano Presbyterian Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
The northbound lanes of the tollway are closed from Keller Springs to Trinity Mills as the investigation continues.
