The DPS trooper wounded by the man who killed a co-worker in Bryan last week is now out of the hospital.

Trooper Juan Rojas Tovar was shot while pursuing suspect Larry Bollin shortly after five people were shot, one fatally, at the Bryan cabinet manufacturer where he worked.

Bollin remains jailed on multiple charges including murder.

A statement from DPS says, "Trooper Tovar has been released from the hospital. He still faces many challenges in the days ahead, but he will not be alone; he has the support of a loving family and his brothers and sisters in law enforcement."

Demonstrating that support, about a dozen of Tovar's fellow troopers were in full uniform as they stood around the fence to cheer on his son's T-ball team while Tovar was unable to attend while in the hospital.
