"The Lone Star State has always embraced the cause of American freedom like no one else or like no place else," he said.

Governor Greg Abbott, Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick also spoke at the rally. Patrick chaired Trump's campaigns in Texas.

"I don't know what's happening in 2024, but I have a feeling if '45' wants to be '47', America will lift him up again," Patrick said.

During the rally, Trump said if he does run and win, he would consider pardons for the people charged in the riot at the U.S. Capitol January 6, 2021.

"They are being treated so unfairly," he said. "This hasn't happened to all the other atrocities that took place recently. Nothing like this has happened."

Trump also said Abbott has his "complete and total endorsement" for a third term as governor. Abbott faces seven challengers in the Republican primary March 1.

Trump also endorsed Paxton, who faces three Republican challengers in the March primary: Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush, U.S. Rep. Louie Gohmert and former State Supreme Court Justice Eva Guzman.
