Carrollton police said 59-year-old Luis Escobar and 71-year-old Alvaro Jimenez were arrested at the Ministerios Bethania church on Belt Line Road Wednesday.

Police spokesperson Jolene DeVito said the reported assaults happened in 2018 when the victim was 14 years old. The accusations were made recently to a school counselor who then notified the police.

Both the police and the church, through a statement online, said the assaults took place at an apartment in Addison and not on church property.

"Our thoughs and prayers go first to the victim and her family who have suffered and have had the courage to speak out" said a statement from Ministerios Bethania.

DeVito is asking anyone who may have been a victim of the two men to call Carrollton police at 972-466-3324.
