Dallas police are looking for the killer of a young couple who were found shot to death in their apartment, with their two young children still alive and left alone.
Police are now saying two adults identified as 24-year-old Jimena Sandoval and 27-year-old David Stewart were found dead in their northeast Dallas apartment on Wednesday but may have been killed on Sunday.
And to make matters worse, their two girls, one only 8-months-old and the other 3-years-old, appear to have been left alone with their dead parents for days.
Reports say police showed up at the Northridge Court Apartments near Park Lane on Sunday to check out a report of shots fired, but left after investigating and finding nothing.

”Responding officers knocked on the door several times and announced themselves as police. Officers also listened at the door for sounds coming from inside the apartment but did not hear anyone inside," said a Dallas Police Department spokesman to NBCDFW.
The spokesman added that areas surrounding and below the apartment were searched and that the reporting party did not answer their door.
“With officers not hearing or seeing any signs of anyone inside the apartment or a sign of a disturbance, officers cleared the call and went back into service,” the spokesperson said.
Sandoval’s sister-in-law Lizette Faz tells NBCDFW the police should have done more to investigate. She says the couple's two children are being cared for by family.
Police say the couple's car, a 2014 Black Nissan Sentra, Texas License Plate HNT9708 was taken and is still missing.
