Crews with the National Weather Service have been out all day surveying damage from this morning’s storms and have confirmed that two EF-1 tornadoes touched down in Parker County.
KRLD’s Andrew Greenstein has been there all day talking to people dealing with the damage.
This morning's severe weather knocked down power lines, trees, and even toppled over a couple of mobile homes in rural Parker County injuring at least two people.
Parker County Emergency Services officials said they responded to one mobile home blown over a few miles north of Mineral Wells, outside the town of Whitt. They said crews rescued three people there who'd been trapped.
Then about ten minutes later, they were called to a second mobile home blown over about ten miles away outside the town of Poolville. In that case, two people were injured but should be okay.
High winds also caused damage to some homes. One home had part of the roof torn off. One of the two tornadoes did touch down in Poolville.
The steeple at the Oak Tree Baptist Church in Poolville was also blown off of the building. No one was reported to be injured in that case.
Emergency management said an issue their crews dealt with was debris in the roads, saying they had clear branches and power lines in some areas.
They also had to shut down highway 199 near the Parker-Wise county line for downed power lines.
