Two people are dead and a third is in a Denton hospital with injuries from Thursday's catastrophic head-on crash near Whitesboro in Grayson County.
DPS investigators report that a car driven by a Gainesville man crossed into on-coming traffic on Highway 377, smashing into a car driven by Anna resident Steven Mounger.
Mounger and Gainesville's Reginaldo Romo were both killed on impact. A passenger in Mounger's car was flown by Care-Flite to Medical City Denton with critical injuries.
DPS cannot yet say why Romo crossed the center line.
