FIFA has selected two North Texas cities to serve as base camps for World Cup teams during the 2026 event across Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
FC Dallas Stadium in Frisco and Mansfield Stadium in Mansfield have been selected, but they will not know which teams will utilize those facilities as both teams have yet to qualify.
Each team that makes it to either Frisco or Mansfield must survive their respective play-off paths.
“We’re excited to host fans from all over the world and ‘roll out the red carpet’ for those visitors and our residents,” said Frisco Mayor Jeff Cheney.
“We look forward to showing our guests and the Southern hospitality Mansfield is known for,” Mansfield Mayor Michael Evans said.
Both teams utilizing either Frisco or Mansfield should find out in just a few weeks which teams will be calling those cities home during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
