An under-construction apartment complex has been heavily damaged by fire Tuesday morning.
The flames erupted just past 3:30 a.m. at a 56-unit complex going up on Trail Lake Drive near South Hulen and Altamesa.
The fire had quite a head start and commanders added a second alarm immediately after the first crews pulled up.
Firefighters had to contend with steady south winds well over 20 miles-an-hour with gusts regularly exceeding 30.
The flames were out in about an hour but some firefighters will remain on-scene probably through the morning to keep an eye on hotspots.
