Grand Prairie fire crews are still keeping an eye on the smoldering rubble of an under-construction warehouse that was heavily damaged by fire Monday evening.
Officials say the flames erupted about 7 p.m. at the construction site on West Trinity near the George Bush Turnpike. Heavy clouds of black smoke could be seen for miles as firefighters began to pour on the water.
Commanders called a second alarm to bring in more fire trucks and more manpower.
The fire was declared under control last night but fire crews were left on scene through the night to keep an eye out for flare-ups. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
