Universal Kids Resort officially opened its gates today in Frisco, offering families a new destination designed specifically for young children and their parents.

The 32-acre theme park and resort, developed by Universal Destinations & Experiences, features seven themed lands with kid-sized attractions, interactive play areas, and experiences based on beloved characters from DreamWorks, Illumination, and more. Guests can explore Shrek’s Swamp, Minion Land, and other immersive zones while staying at the on-site Universal Kids Resort Hotel just steps from the action.

Tickets, hotel packages, and the park’s first annual pass options went on sale earlier this year. The grand opening comes after years of planning and construction in the growing Frisco area, which has seen significant development in family entertainment and tourism.

Local leaders and tourism officials have highlighted the project’s potential to boost the North Texas economy and provide a convenient, themed getaway for families in the region and beyond. No major incidents or delays were reported on opening day.

The resort joins other major attractions in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, adding to the region’s appeal as a family vacation destination.

Universal Destinations & Experiences shared excitement for the opening across its channels, encouraging families to plan their “kidcation.”
