A University Park city worker is being treated at a hospital after a ditch collapsed and briefly trapped him.
University Park officials say a city work crew was making repairs to a water line near the Dallas Country Club when a trench had been dug at Golf and Binkley collapsed.
Reports say the worker was in the trench trying to shore up the sides when the dirt wall gave way.
University Park Fire Chief Randy Howell says the worker was trapped up to his waist.
The worker was taken to Presbyterian Hospital where he is reported in stable condition. Howell did not know the extent of the injuries.
