A Dallas warehouse has been gutted by an early morning fire on West Jefferson near Loop 12 Walton Walker.

Officials say the flames erupted just before 5:30 a.m. and fire crews found heavy fire already spouting from the center of the large, abandoned warehouse.

The fire had such a head start that it was far too dangerous to send anyone inside. In fact, Dallas Fire-Rescue Lieutenant Jason Evans says a large part of the roof has caved in.

Commanders ordered firefighters to stay outside with hoses and fire apparatus. The fire quickly went to three alarms to bring in more manpower. No injuries have been reported.
