A Dallas Woodrow Wilson High School student died over the weekend, although the circumstances of his death are still murky.
The school's athletic department has announced a prayer vigil on behalf of senior basketball player Deshawn Jagwan.
Head coach Corey Johnson tweets: "I can't believe this is real...he was 100% going to be successful in life."
A Website that compiles data on high school recruits says Jagwan had received an offer to play basketball at Park University in Gilbert, Arizona.
The prayer vigil will be Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. outside the Woodrow Wilson gym.
