Visit Dallas has opened a kiosk in one of the city's most popular parks. The organization set up its information hub in the southeast corner of Klyde Warren Park.
"One of the great things about Klyde Warren Park is anytime you drive by it, walk through it, it is always busy," says Visit Dallas Chief Executive Officer Craig Davis. "It is really the place I think a lot of people tend to migrate to feel the community."
Visit Dallas says 27 million people visit the city each year, and in 2024, the organization says tourists spent $123 million on hotel rooms.
"People, when they visit Dallas, they're looking for a sophisticated, upscale experience," Davis says. "What they look for is high-end restaurants, they look for shopping. What they look for is Texas hospitality."
Davis says the Visit Dallas kiosk can help visitors plan their schedule, provide discounts for restaurants and events and provide free equipment rental for games at the park.
Klyde Warren Park opened 13 years ago covering Woodall Rodgers Freeway. This year, the park has also installed a "life-sized" chess board in addition to existing table-top games and available sports equipment like soccer balls and volleyballs.
"That's one of the great things about Klyde Warren Park. There are so many different programs, we're always trying to keep things fresh," says Klyde Warren Park Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration Larry McCoy. "We have great partners, whether it's our markets, our Saturday morning fitness classes."
McCoy says the addition of the Visit Dallas kiosk will add another option to give people a chance to come together
"That's one of the things we pride ourselves on is just having a place for community," he says.
He says Klyde Warren Park is currently planning to reschedule a dog adoption event that was cancelled because of rain last weekend.
The Visit Dallas kiosk is located at 2049 N. Pearl St. and is open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
