Voters in the Fort Worth ISD on Tuesday approved a property tax hike. The measure will raise about $66 million in new revenue for the school district for a variety of purposes.
Some of the funds will be used for pay raises for teachers and other district employees. The money will also pay for plexiglass dividers for classrooms and personal protective equipment to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The Fort Worth ISD will also use some of the money to pay for security improvements designed to help prevent cyber-attacks.
The district will also buy lap top computers and internet hot-spots for students that need them for online learning.
