Two arrest warrants have been issued for Dallas police officers and their handling of protesters during a BLM march.

Senior Corporal Ryan Mabry and former Dallas Police Senior Corporal Melvin Williams were each charged with multiple counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Official Oppression for their involvement in the George Floyd protests during the summer of 2020.
Brandon Saenz was shot in the eye with a rubber bullet by the officers, during what he describes as a peaceful demonstration.
Both officers were expected to turn themselves in to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department.
District Attorney John Creuzot had asked for more information earlier this year, on three use of force cases during the protests because the statute of limitations was about to run out.
Williams was fired last month for violating the department’s use of force policy on a separate incident. Mabry has been in the department since January 2010 and is on administrative leave pending the outcome of an Internal Affairs administrative investigation.
