Some are calling him "a menace on the roads," a North Texas man has been sentenced to life in prison for habitual drunk driving.
He hasn't been arrested once or twice, or even three or four times, 50-year-old Christopher Stanford of Weatherford has been arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated nine times and he's been jailed four times on the felony charges.
But after his last arrest in Parker County, a jury decided enough was enough. After convicting him for the 9th time, Stanford was sentenced to life in prison after he told the court he didn't have a drinking problem, he was just very unlucky.
Standford will have to serve at least 15 years before he's eligible for parole. In addition to the Parker County conviction, Standford also has DWI convictions in Tarrant, Dallas, Rockwall, and Johnson Counties.
