Whistleblowers Fired from Attorney General's Office

Two of the former senior aids who reported the Texas Attorney General to law enforcement have been fired from that office.

Another two have been placed on leave.  In all, seven senior aids came forward with allegations that Ken Paxton committed bribery and abuse of office in order to serve a political donor.

Dallas employment Attorney David Wiley says the employees mention "appropriate law enforcement authority" in their October first letter. He says that is language that is right out of the Texas Public Whistleblower act.

He says there's a presumption in that law "that if you suffer an adverse employment action within 90 days of having made a report, there's a rebuttal presumption that the reason was because of the report."

The letter was released October first.

He believes the people who wrote the letter may have some suspicion they would be retaliated against and may have looked for protection.

Wiley says this is subject to rebuttal from the Attorney General's office.
