The White Settlement Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting Friday afternoon that left an adult woman dead and has released images of possible suspects as it asks the public for help identifying them.
Officers responded at 3:03 p.m. Jan. 30 to the 600 block of Meadow Park Drive, where initial reports indicated multiple male teens or young adults had fired shots and fled on foot; the woman, in her 30s, was found with multiple gunshot wounds and later died at a local hospital.
The department says two to three male suspects, described as wearing dark clothing, black hooded sweatshirts and face coverings, were last seen running westbound on Wyatt Drive and are believed to no longer be in the immediate area.
Because the shooting occurred near daycares and both an elementary and middle school, authorities briefly secured those facilities early in the response out of caution.
White Settlement police are asking anyone with information to contact Sergeant Steven Person at 817-246-7070 ext. 419 or submit anonymous tips to 817-469-TIPS, with potential eligibility for a cash reward leading to arrest and indictment.
Multiple agencies assisted at the scene, including the Fort Worth Police Department Real-Time Crime Center and Helicopter Aviation Unit, the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office, Westworth Village and Sansom Park police K-9 units, and the White Settlement ISD Police Department.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the identity of the victim once next of kin have been notified.
