Firefighters are attacking a wildfire at Possum Kingdom Lake in Palo Pinto County from the ground and the air on Monday.
The fire consumed about 300 acres and was 0% contained as of 4:49 p.m. Monday, according to the Texas A&M Forest Service.
The fire on the lake's west side is sending so much smoke into the sky that witnesses say it looks orange. Jess Leigh, who works at Boondocks Restaurant, said there were similarities to 2011 when there was a huge fire at the lake.
Officials said the low winds are allowing firefighters to make significant progress.
