Grand Prairie woman Chelsea Kretz is a firm believer in the mantra of "Love thy neighbor."
Last Monday, one of her neighbors knocked on her door asking if he could charge her cell phone as he had been out of power since 3 am, and she jumped at the chance to help.
When Kretz went to return the phone, she found her neighbors in their car trying to keep warm, so she invited them into their home, as did her Siberian husky Jetson, who offered his own welcome with a few kisses of his own.
Kretz told NBC DFW, "Gave 'em a lot of love and warmed 'em right up."
My sweet neighbors asked me to charge their phone as they've been without power since 3 a.m. Upon returning it to them, I found them warming up in their car. I basically dragged them inside my house bc they didn't want to impose 🥺❄️. Jetson helped warmly welcome them! #txwx pic.twitter.com/OSt0uIyWxS

Kretz also encouraged others to help their neighbors in any way they can. "I feel lucky I have power, but I also feel guilty I have power, and in that moment, I did what you're supposed to do and said, 'please come inside my home and get warm.'"
