Dallas Fire Rescue officials confirmed a woman has died after a fire raced through her home last night.
Just before 7:0 p.m. Thursday flames erupted in the home on Schroeder Road near Central Expressway and Forest Lane.
Fire crews were met by a neighbor who had tried to go in to rescue the couple who live there, but who was turned back by the heat and smoke.
Firefighters rushed in and pulled the two outside, but officials say the woman was pronounced dead on the scene. The man was rushed to the hospital where his condition has not been released.
Investigators don't yet know what caused the fire.
