A San Francisco woman has sued Fort Worth-based American Airlines after an alleged sexual assault on a red-eye flight from San Francisco to Dallas in 2024.
Barbara Morgan says she was assaulted on the flight but was too afraid to report it while the flight was still in the air over fear of retaliation or being blamed for a possible diversion.
"You don't know how to react because you don't think it's possible," Morgan said in a news conference with her attorneys Wednesday. "I was frozen."
The man accused in the incident, Cherian Abraham of Allen, Texas, has been charged with abusive sexual contact on a flight separate from this alleged incident.
The FBI said in a statement earlier this year that he was also accused in a third incident when questioned by Minneapolis Airport Police.
"It's hard to describe what it's like to have a stranger touch you," Morgan said.
KRLD has reached out to American Airlines for comment.
