Texas ranks 50th of the 51 U.S. states and the District of Columbia when it comes to women's health and reproductive care, according to a new report.

Only Mississippi ranks worst than Texas, according to the 2024 State Scorecard on Women’s Health and Reproductive Care.

A key point reveals, among women of reproductive age, ages 15-44, those in Texas, Georgia, and Oklahoma were uninsured at the highest rates. Women in states that had not expanded Medicaid eligibility were among those most at risk of lacking coverage.

Steven Love, president and CEO of the DFW Hospital Council joined Ask the Expert on Tuesday to discuss how women’s health and reproductive care and the high rate of uninsured residents go hand in hand.
