The Cotton Bowl stadium at Fair Park was built in 1930, and like most things that are nearly 100 years old, it needs some work.

The $140 Million facelift starts today and is expected to be finished
by the start of the 2025 State Fair of Texas.

Officials say the upgrades are designed to enhance the visitor's experience and will include 14 new escalators, new premium seating, and larger concourses.

More restrooms and concession stands will be added and new art deco artwork will be displayed. Officials say the renovations will preserve the legacy and heritage of the stadium.

As for this year's state fair and Texas-OU game, they will go on as scheduled at the Cotton Bowl. Renovations are being done in stages to accommodate some historic events.
