BOSTON — Country music headliners the Zac Brown Band shocked a sold-out crowd of 37,000 fans at Boston's Fenway Park on Sunday night by gifting every attendee a free cruise vacation for two aboard Margaritaville at Sea.
The historic announcement came during the group's record-breaking 15th consecutive sold-out show at the iconic ballpark, marking what representatives called the largest single giveaway in live entertainment history with an estimated total value exceeding $40 million.
Lead singer Zac Brown broke the news to the audience just before performing the band’s 2021 hit song "Same Boat."

"Tonight we're going to do something that even Jimmy would say is crazy," Brown told the roaring crowd, referencing his late friend and collaborator Jimmy Buffett. "I'm buying every single person here a cruise for two people on the boat. Every single person here gets a cruise for themselves and a loved one."
The massive giveaway was funded personally by Brown in partnership with Margaritaville at Sea, where the band is currently presenting its "Love & Fear" concert tour. Each concertgoer received a voucher redeemable for select cruise sailings over the next year.
Christopher Ivy, chief executive officer of Margaritaville at Sea, praised the initiative in an official statement, noting the company was honored to partner with Brown to deliver a once-in-a-lifetime surprise for his longtime fan base.
In addition to the stadium-wide surprise, the band has been selecting four fans at each tour stop to receive cruise packages. Those select winners will sail aboard the cruise line's new ship, the Beachcomber, featuring a live music venue co-designed and curated by Brown himself set to launch in January 2027.
Concertgoers expressed disbelief following the announcement, with many stating they initially expected the band to bring out a special musical guest rather than hand out multi-thousand-dollar vacation packages to tens of thousands of people.
