Saturday March 26th is Purple Day, a day set aside to call attention to epilepsy and the more than three million Americans living with the often-debilitating condition.
The nation's biggest advocates for Purple Day and epilepsy awareness include Sarah Carlson. She was a successful morning news anchor in Madison, Wisconsin before she suddenly started experiencing seizures (including some on-air) that eventually brought an end to her television news career.
After 12 years of struggle, Carlson and her doctors finally found a breakthrough in 2020, and today, she is seizure-free and spends much of her time working on behalf of the Epilepsy Foundation.
Anchor Sarah Carlson explains what happened during News 3 at 6 on Tuesday night.

Carlson encourages people to watch the clip of her biggest on-air seizure to give them a stunning example of how bad the condition can be.
