A Surge In Online Shopping For The Holidays Is Already On

A new study shows holiday shopping will be a lot different this year.
Ted Rossman with CreditCards.com says 71% of holiday shoppers plan to buy most stuff online.

Rossman says, "It really seems like the pandemic has accelerated this existing trend away from brick and mortar and towards online. It really cuts across age groups,  income brackets, and other demographics. Everybody's shifting online this year."

He also says 46 million people have already started holiday shopping or plan to begin shopping by the end of September.

Rossman says, "Avoiding human interaction was actually the second most common reason people shop online. I was surprised that convenience was number one. We know that online shopping is very convenient but that's really nothing new. I really thought this year it would be more of the virus that's driving people."
