(WWJ) – What does it take to live in the 'real world'? Are the thousands of kids graduating from high school and college ready for life after their schooling ends? In some respects, yes. But for many, preparedness for “adult life” is lacking.
That’s where the Michigan State University Extension is trying to help. Back by popular demand, the school is again offering “Adulting 101” classes this spring and summer for teenagers and young adults to “demystify the obscure reality of being an adult.”
On a new Daily J podcast WWJ’s Zach Clark explores the MSU Extension’s program that is teaching people of all ages the value of “adulting.”
Whether it's something as simple as doing laundry or eating healthy on a budget, or as complex as navigating the many ins and outs of personal finance from taxes to banking, the program has a lot to offer.
Topics included in "Adulting 101" include money management, community engagement, conflict resolution, career and future education, home skills and more. Full details of the program are available on the MSU Extension website.
