It should be no surprise, that traffic is getting worse in Texas. But, they still have it worse in other places than we do here.

Inrix is out with its annual Global Traffic Scorecard. It looks at traffic data for 900 cities over the last three years to see where the most gridlocked cities are.

It says the absolute worst traffic in the world right now is in Istanbul, Turkey, where people lose 105 hours per year stuck in traffic. New York City is second worst, then Chicago, London, and Mexico City.

In Texas, Houston moves into 17th place for worst traffic in the world. It grew 25% in the last year. Dallas is 82nd worst with 41 hours lost to traffic jams. That's up 22% in two years.

When it comes to the most congested roads, Highway 80 from 635 to Forney is the third worst in the country. Traffic gets the worst there at 5 p.m. It takes an extra 22 minutes to get through that stretch. That alone is an extra 88 hours lost in traffic in a year.
