A GoFundMe campaign launched to support the two teenage daughters of Grey's Anatomy and Euphoria actor Eric Dane has been verified and cleared for disbursement after being temporarily placed on hold, drawing widespread relief from thousands of donors who had rallied around the family following the star's death from ALS.

Dane passed away on February 19, 2026, at the age of 53, nearly a year after announcing his ALS diagnosis in April 2025. He is survived by his two daughters, Billie Beatrice Dane, 15, and Georgia Geraldine Dane, 13, whom he shared with Jawbreaker actress Rebecca Gayheart.

The fundraiser, titled "In Honor of Eric Dane," was organized by "Friends of the Dane Family" and created to "support his girls and their future needs." Its stated goal is to raise $500,000. The campaign quickly gained momentum, surpassing $338,000 in donations from more than 2,000 contributors before being paused for review.

GoFundMe's Trust and Safety team temporarily held the funds while it scrutinized the campaign, which originally did not include a specific individual tied to the fundraiser, nor had the platform confirmed that proceeds would benefit Dane's family directly. Following verification, Gayheart was listed as the official beneficiary, and a GoFundMe representative confirmed to Rolling Stone that the funds will go to the family.

Among the notable donors are Euphoria creator Sam Levinson and his wife Ashley Levinson, who contributed $27,000. Levinson said in a statement, "I'm heartbroken by the loss of our dear friend Eric. Working with him was an honor. Being his friend was a gift." Model Hailey Bieber also donated $20,000 to the campaign.

Money raised will cover the girls' schooling, housing, and other essential needs as they face life without their father.

The GoFundMe page notes that Dane "became a passionate spokesperson for the ALS community, using his voice and platform to advocate for fellow patients and to push for greater awareness" even as his own health rapidly declined.

The campaign mirrors a similar effort launched after Dawson's Creek star James Van Der Beek died from colorectal cancer last year. That GoFundMe raised more than $2.7 million for his wife and children.
