Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton appeared to troll former President Donald Trump ahead of today’s solar eclipse, sharing a photo of him staring at the 2017 solar eclipse without glasses.

Clinton posted the viral photo on X, showing the then-president looking at the eclipse without his protective eclipse glasses alongside First Lady Melania Trump.

“Reminder,” Clinton posted alongside the photo.

The post was accompanied by one Clinton made in 2020 that said, “Please do not take medical advice from a man who looked directly at a solar eclipse.”

The original post from 2020 was made in reference to Trump’s comments during the COVID-19 pandemic when he had discussed the possibility of taking bleach to kill the virus.

During the 2017 eclipse viewing, one of Trump’s aides was heard shouting, “Don’t look” after Trump was seen taking his glasses off to look at the sun.

NASA says that people should not attempt to look at the sun during the solar eclipse without protective eyewear, as it can cause immediate eye damage.

To be considered safe for solar viewing, the glasses must comply with the ISO 12312-2 international standard.
