College kids going to school out of state might be able to fight the fares this holiday season as 3,000 students could earn domestic round-trip flights for $25.
The program is being run by Amazon and StudentUniverse, a travel booking platform for students, which shared in a statement that 3,000 students with Amazon Prime memberships have the chance to score cheap seats on flights home this holiday season.
“As travel costs continue to rise, we’re happy to help make flying more affordable for Prime Students who want to spend this important time with family and friends,” Carmen Nestares, vice president of U.S. Prime and Marketing Tech at Amazon, said in a statement.
The promotion will be available starting on Dec. 5 and run through Dec. 7.
Each of the three days, starting at 6 a.m. PST, a limited number of 1,000 tickets will drop at reduced prices, allowing students a chance at saving some dough this holiday season.
Students who are Prime members can go to the Prime Student x Student Universe portal to get one of the tickets before they run out.
The deal is only available for travelers looking to fly out between Dec. 8 and Christmas and travel back between Dec. 8 and Jan. 14. The tickets are for basic economy and main cabin fare only.
Steven de Blois, the CEO of StudentUniverse, shared in a statement that the program will hopefully help students during the holiday season.
“Our trusted partnership with Amazon has allowed us to help thousands of Prime Student members access affordable flights and hotels around the world,” de Blois said. “This partnership has now culminated into this unforgettable moment during which time we hope to spread some cheer by helping young people across the country travel home for holidays affordably.”
