After a quiet June, July saw the tech industry slashing jobs once again.

According to Layoffs.fyi 16,292 tech workers have been sent packing. The largest cuts coming from Microsoft, who slashed 9,000 employees -- accounting for 4% of their global workforce. The cuts coming less than two months after the Seattle-based tech-giant dropped 6,000 members of their teams' globally in the middle of May.

Intel scratched 5,000 jobs across the sector in a move to reduce costs and simplify it's operations. Since April the chip manufacturer has slashed it's workforce by more than 15,000 in an effort to hit it's target of 75,000 employees by the end of the year.

Another major blow coming from Austin, Texas-based Indeed and Glassdoor, who announced 1,300 jobs would be eliminated as their parent company Japan's Recruit Holdings embraces artificial intelligence. The cuts slimming down the companies workforce by 6%.
