Another staple of our childhood is going to the dark side.

In 2023, Jagged Edge Productions in collaboration with ITN Studios created the film "Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey." ITN Studios announced that they plan to also turn Popeye the sailor man into a horror film.

It's expected to come out in January 2025, where Popeye attacks counselors at a summer camp. The filmmakers called it a "raunchy and gory slasher" film.

They also note that this film will not have anything to do with what fans call the Poohniverse and will be entirely separate. Willam Stead will be directing while Rene August is producing it. Steven Murphy plays Popeye. Here is the official plot synopsis for the film:

The legend of Popeye haunts a group of councilors as they intend to open a summer camp.

The film's team said to expect a trailer and release date soon.
